Men's Golf Holds 12th After Two Days At Mission Inn Invitational

Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla. - For the second straight day, the Greyhounds posted a 304 at the Mission Inn Invitational in Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla. On Saturday, however, the score was good enough to move Loyola up three slots in the team standings, and with one day left of competition, the `Hounds are 12th with a team total of 608.

Keith Hall led the Greyhounds on Saturday with a round of 75 to pull up his 36-hole total to 156. Team leader Chris Derby, who is 34th among all individuals in the tournament, scored a 77 after an opening round of 73 to sit at 150 after two days.

Senior Matt Bassler and junior Michael Mulieri continued their consistent scoring with identical scores on Saturday. After shooting a 75 in Friday's opening round, both Bassler and Mulieri posted a 76 on Saturday and are tied at 151 for the tournament.

Rounding out the scoring for Loyola is Alex Redfearn, making his first college start. Redfearn is at 163 after two rounds.

The Greyhounds conclude play at the Mission Inn Invitational on Sunday. Lipscomb is the current leader with a team total of 579, while St. John's and Western Kentucky round out the top three.

Sunday's final round begins at 8:30 a.m.
