Men's Golf Scores 304 On Day One At Mission Inn

Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla. - Senior Chris Derby led Loyola's effort on Friday at the Mission Inn Invitational in Howie-in-the-Hills, Fla., with a first-round score of 73. The Greyhounds, who sit in 15th place after 18 holes, posted a team score of 304 to start the tournament.

Derby's 73 puts the Loyola co-captain in a tie for 12th place overall. Fellow co-captain Matt Bassler and junior Michael Mulieri are two strokes back of Derby with 18-hole scores of 75.

Greyhound newcomers Keith Hall and Alex Redfearn each posted a Round One score 81 on the 6,668-yard Florida course to round out the Greyhound scorers.

Western Kentucky and St. John's lead the field with scores of 288 and 290 with two day of competition remaining.
