Men's Golf Moves Up One Spot at St. John's Mission Inn Fall Intercollegiate

Men's golf moved up one spot after completing day two of St. John's Mission Inn Fall Intercollegiate Saturday. Greyhound golfers combined for a 307, shaving seven shots off yesterday's total, giving Loyola a 36-hole score of 621 at the Orlando-area Inn's El Campeon Course.

Alex Redfearn dropped from 12th to 25th Saturday after shooting a 78, but the Florida native still remains to Greyhounds' leader at 9-over 151.

While Redfearn dropped, Jay Mulieri and freshman Jason Burton fared better today. Mulieri fired a 76 Saturday, putting him in a tie for 40th. After an opening round 79, Mulieri is currently at 13-over for the event with a 36-hole score of 155.

Burton, a freshman out of nearby Calvert Hall, quietly moved up the rankings by shooting a 75 Sunday. Burton moved up to a solo 45th place, one shot ahead of teammate Ryan McCarthy and two shots behind Mulieri at 15-over (157).

Will Handley, the Greyhounds' other Florida native, is 29-over after going 84-87 (171).

The tournament concludes tomorrow, with the first group teeing off at 7:30 a.m.
