MEADOWS OF DAN, Va. - Junior Ethan Wall picked up his first top-10 finish for the Loyola University Maryland golf team at the rain-shortened 36-hole Primland Collegiate Invitational at Primland Resort Tuesday.
With three holes to finish after play was suspended yesterday, Wall started his day with a double-bogey on the seventh hole, before making par on the final two holes to finish at 1-over 73. His 1-under 143 placed him tied for 10th with Penn State's JD Dornes for the tournament.
For the tournament, Wall finished tied for 10th, while junior Will Wears was tied for 34th after completing the two rounds yesterday at 7-over 151.
Egloff was tied for 43rd at 10-over 154, Flach finished 47th at 12-over 156 and sophomore Jeremy Wall shot 13-over 157 yesterday to finish tied for 48th.
North Carolina claimed the team title with an 18-under 558, followed by Auburn (563, -13), tournament host Wake Forest (569, -7) and Penn State (570, -6), respectively. Pepperdine shot an even 576 to round out the top five, while Yale edged Virginia Tech out of sixth by one stroke (590-591) and Loyola checked in eighth at 19-over 595. Davidson finished ninth with a 28-over 604.
Individually, Auburn's Michael Johnson won with a 15-under 129. North Carolina's Carter Jenkins was second at 13-under 131 and Wake Forest's Paul McBride finished third at 9-under 135.
The Greyhounds will return to action on Monday, Oct. 5, when they travel to NC State for the two-day Wolfpack Fall Intercollegiate.
