Men's Golf Registers Runner-Up Finish At Cornell Invitational

ITHACA, NY - Freshman Will Shriver shot a two-day total of 147 to place second among all individuals as Loyola's men's golf team placed second at the Cornell Invitational on Sunday evening. The Greyhounds registered a tournament score of 603, one stoke back of champion Binghamton.

Shriver finished with rounds of 72 and 75 to score three stokes over par for the weekend. T.J. Shuart had Loyola's best second round, shooting a 71 to finish the tournament with a 150. Shuart tied for seventh overall.

Both Scott Zielinski and David Atkinson fired 36-hole scores of 157. Zielinski finished with an even-par 72 on his final round. Rounding out the Loyola scorers was Jeff O'Brien, who shot a 159.

The Greyhounds sat in third place after Saturday's round and moved up to finish seven strokes better than both Bucknell and Lehigh, who tied for third overall. Loyola will be in action once again next weekend. They play in Army's invitational on Saturday and Sunday.
