Sunset Beach, N.C. - Senior captain Will Shriver fired a one-under 71 to get the Greyhounds off to a great start at the Sea Trail Invitational in Sunset Beach, N.C. As a team, Loyola finished the day one-over par, scorching the course for a 289.
"This is a tremendous start to this event," says Loyola Head Coach Tom Beidleman. "We played an excellent team round of golf today."
The Greyhounds played a very consistent round at Sea Trail Resort, with their four scorers a combined two strokes apart. Sophomore Michael Mulieri was even par for the day (72), as junior Matt Bassler and sophomore Blake Furgerson each posted one-over par rounds of 73.
The Greyhounds are in third place heading into Sunday's final round. James Madison leads the field with a four-under par 284 while Western Carolina is alone in second at 286.
