RALEIGH, N.C. - The Loyola University Maryland golf team turned in its best round of the Rod Myers Invitational on Sunday, and the ninth-best round for the day, shooting a 1-over 289.
Senior Connor Flach made the biggest jump for the Greyhounds, improving 12 places and into a tie for 40th place after shooting a 2-under 70 for a three-round score of 6-over 222.
Classmate Ethan Wall also improved three spots and into a tie for 49th place after shooting an even 72 today. He finished at 8-over 224.
Juniors Jeremy Wall and Bennett Wisner finished tied for 62nd and tied for 69th, respectively. Wall shot a 1-over 73 today to finish at 12-over 228, while Wisner carded a 2-over 74 for an aggregate score of 15-over 231.
Senior Will Wears rounded out the Greyhounds competing, finishing tied for 77th. He shot a 20-over 236 after hitting an 8-over 80 today.
Liberty's Kieran Vincent won the tournament with a 15-under 201, while Wake Forest's Will Zalatoris and Florida State's Cristobal Del Solar were tied for second at 9-under 207.
Among the teams, Wake Forest took the team title with a 10-under 278. Libery checked in second at 2-under 286 and Duke and North Carolina were third at 1-under 287.
Loyola finished 14th with a 39-over 903.
The Greyhounds will return to action on Monday, Sept. 26 for the two-day Primland Intercollegiate in Meadows of Dan, Virginia.
