Flach Tied For Fifth After Two Rounds Of Patriot League Championships

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - Following the first two rounds of the Patriot League Championships at United States Naval Academy Golf Course, junior Connor Flach is tied for fifth overall, while the Loyola University Maryland golf team is in third place.

Flach shot a pair of 1-over 72s to enter tomorrow’s third and final round at 2-over 144. Classmate Ethan Wall is one stroke back and tied for seventh after shooting 4-over 75 and 1-under 70, respectively.

Sophomore Jeremy Wall is third for Loyola, and tied for 11th overall, at 5-over 147 (73-74), and is followed by junior Will Wears, who is tied for 18th at 8-over 150 (75-75).

Sophomore Bennett Wisner and senior Jimmy Dengler round out the Greyhounds competing, as they’re tied for 21st and tied for 29th, respectively. Wisner shot a 74 and 77, respectively, for a 9-over 151, and Dengler carded a 76 and 77, respectively, for an 11-over 153.

As a team, Loyola shot a 17-over 585 through the two rounds. Army West Point is even at 568 and Navy is second at 12-over 580.

Individually, the Black Knights’ Dean Sakata is leading the way at 7-under 135, while Bucknell’s JP Raftery is second at 4-under 138 and Lafayette’s Art Griffin is third with an even 142.

Loyola will return to the course Sunday morning for the third and final round of competition.
