Men's Golf Posts 298; Sit Five Strokes Back Heading Into Final Round Of MAAC Championships

Orlando, Fla. - Junior Matt Bassler shot a one-under 71, and Loyola posted a team score of 298 on Saturday at the MAAC Championships in Buena Vista, Fla. The Greyhounds, who have a two-day total of 598, enter Sunday's final round five strokes back of first-place Siena.

Senior captain Will Shriver followed his opening round 68 with an even-par 72 and is second among all individuals. Bassler, meanwhile, has a 36-hole score of 146, and is sixth overall.

Sophomore Michael Mulieri cut three strokes off his Day One score to post a 76 on Saturday, while junior Chris Derby scored a 79 to close out the Loyola official scoring.

The Greyhounds are third overall at 22 over par as a team. Sunday's final round from Disney's Magnolia Golf Course will begin with teams teeing off at 8 a.m.
