Men's Golf Extends Lead at MAAC Championships With Second-Round 293

Orlando, Fla. - Junior Michael Mulieri fired a second-round 67 at the MAAC Championships to pace the Greyhounds to a Day Two score of 293 at Disney's Magnolia Golf Course in Orlando, Fla. Loyola extends its one-stroke lead from Day One to six strokes heading into Sunday's final round.

Mulieri set the course ablaze with a score six strokes better than any of his teammates. Senior Chris Derby, who played an outstanding round himself, posted a 73 on Saturday.

The Greyhounds also received scores of 75 from a pair of golfers playing in their first MAAC Championship. Alex Redfearn and Mike O'Keefe each added a second-round 75 to give Loyola its Day Two score. Senior Matt Bassler, who led the Greyhounds on Day One, posted the drop score of 78.

Loyola once again finished with the low round of the day and is six strokes ahead of Rider and 11 strokes ahead of Fairfield with 18 holes left to play.
