Lemp And George Finish Strong At River Landing Intercollegiate

WALLACE, N.C. - Senior Brendan Lemp and junior Bart George each carded a 2-under 70 through the final round of the River Landing Intercollegiate Saturday to help the Loyola University Maryland golf team to a seventh-place finish.

George and Lemp finished tied for 11th overall with matching 2-over 218 (75-73-70) scores. Freshman Matt Oshrine finished tied for 33rd overall at 12-over 228, shooting 7-over 79 today, while classmate Connor Flach was tied for 43rd with a 15-over 231. Flach shot a 3-over 75 today.

Sophomore Brian McCormick finished tied for 56th with a 21-over 237 and senior Andrew McGill, competing as an individual, improved two spots and into a tie for 45th with a 16-over 232.

The Greyhounds shot 31-over 895 through the three rounds to improve one spot after yesterday’s two rounds. East Carolina won the team title with a 4-over 868, VCU was second at 8-over 872 and Tulsa was one stroke back and finished third with a 9-over 873.

ECU’s Wesley Conover took the individual title with a 4-under 212. Logan McCracken (Tulsa) was second at 3-under 213 and Winthrop’s Taylor Dickson was third with a 2-under 214.

Loyola will return to North Carolina next weekend for the Wolfpack Spring Open. The Greyhounds will compete on Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20.
