AMHERST, Va. - Loyola University Maryland sophomore golfer Matt Oshrine hit a 3-under 69 through the second round of the Liberty Spring Invitational at Poplar Grove Friday afternoon to move into the top 10 individually.
Oshrine enters the third round in seventh place, with a 3-under 141. He is one stroke shy of third and four strokes from the leaders - North Carolina's William Register and Lipscomb's Dawson Armstrong, each with a 7-under 137.
Freshman Jeremy Wall is second for the Greyhound and tied for 22nd overall with a 1-over 145. Wall carded a 1-over 73 through this morning's round before following it up with an even 72.
Senior Bart George is the final Greyhound competing and he'll enter the final round at 12-over 156, which is tied for 74th, after shooting 80 and 76, respectively.
As a team, the Greyhounds are ninth out of the 18 teams competing with an aggregate score of 15-over 591. Oklahoma is in the lead at 14-under 562 and UNC is second at 9-under 567. Lipscomb (2-under 574) and Liberty (1-under 575) are also under par heading into the final round.
Loyola will return to the course Saturday morning for the third and final round of play.
