STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - Loyola University Maryalnd's golf team completed the suspended first round and all 18 holes of the second on Saturday, and the Greyhounds finished day in fourth place of 16 teams at the Rutherford Intercollegiate on Penn State University's Blue Course.
The Greyhounds shot 302 in the first round that was halted after less than six holes of action on Friday. After finishing that round on Saturday morning, they returned to the course in the afternoon to shoot 297 for a two-round total of 599.
The host Nittany Lions lead the team race with a two round total of 586 (290-296). Army and Delaware are tied for second, four shots ahead of Loyola, at 595 (Army - 301-294; Delaware - 300-295).Towson rounds out the top-five one shot back of the Greyhounds after two rounds of 300.
Will Handley posted Loyola's best overall score on Saturday, shooting 5-over par 149 (73-76) to tie for 12th overall. Patrick McCormick is tied for 16th, a shot back at 150. He carded an 8-over par 80 in the first round but responded to tie for the tournament's low round with a 2-under par 70 in the second.
The Greyhounds will hit the course on Sunday for the final round of the tournament.
