Annapolis, Md. - The Loyola men's golf team fired a first-round team score of 302 at Navy's Spring Intercollegiate on Saturday afternoon. Full team results were not available with all participating teams unable to finish due to darkness. The tournament will conclude tomorrow at Navy's Golf Course in Annapolis, Md.

Senior Jeff O'Brien led Loyola with a first-round score of 72. Freshman Will Shriver finished three strokes back with a 75 while T.J. Shuart scored a 77. Senior Scott Zielinski tallied a 78 on the first-18 holes of the tournament while junior David Atkinson rounded out Loyola's scorers with a 79.

"Based on the conditions, I think we played very well," says Loyola Golf Coach Tom Beidleman. "This is an extremely strong field and we'll need to have a good performance tomorrow if we want to finish in the Top-5."

Sunday's tee times are slated for an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
