Westover, Md. - Will Shriver and Matt Bassler posted first-round scores of 73 and the Greyhounds posted a 296 to hold 11th-place at the Drew Upton Memorial in Westover, Md. on Saturday. Richmond leads the 23-team field after one round with a Day One score of 283.
Freshman Michael Mulieri improved upon his 39 on the front-nine, scoring a 35 on the back to end the day with a two-over par 74. Sophomore Chris Derby posted a 76 while Nick Brassill scored a 78 to give Loyola five scorers in the 70's.
Host Towson is one stroke better at 295 while Yale and Columbia are tied for eighth at 293. The Greyhounds will look to move up the standings with the final 18 holes on Sunday from the Great Hope Golf Course on Maryland's Eastern Shore.
