Golf Tied For 14th After 1st Round At Fireline Invite

TOWSON, Md. - Senior Jay Mulieri shot an even 72 as the Loyola University Maryland men's golf team sits 14th after carding a 16-over 304 in the first round of the Fireline Towson Invitational at Prospect Bay Country Club.

Mulieri stands tied for 12th individually, four shots behind co-leaders Anthony DeGaul (Penn State) and Scott Rainaud (Fairfield).

Classmate Patrick McCormick is second on the team and tied for 38th overal at 3-over 75, while fellow senior Ryan McCarthy notched a 6-over-78 through the first round to tie for 80th.

Cameron Liebert and Brendan Lemp rounded out the scoring, as Liebert fired a 7-over 79 to tie for 88th, and Lemp finished with a 9-over 81 to stand tied for 102nd.

Freshman Bart George is competing unattached in the tournament for the Greyhounds, and shot a 2-over 74 through the first round to tie for 25th overall.

Loyola will return to the course tomorrow for the second round of competition.
