Greyhounds' Eighth After Windy, Cold Day One At Lacrosse Homes Invitational

GRASONVILLE, Md. - Michael Mulieri and Chris Derby had rounds of 75 and 76, respectively, to lead Loyola at the first day of competition at the Lacrosse Homes Invitational on Prospect Bay Country Club.

High winds kept scores high on Maryland's Eastern Shore, and the Greyhounds turned in a round of 310 to place eighth of 19 teams on the first day.

UNC-Greensboro was the only team to shoot a sub-300 score, checking in one stroke lower at 299 to lead the field. Longwood and Liberty are tied for second at 300, while James Madison and is at 306 in fourth. Army, Georgetown and Navy are tied for fifth at 307.

In Mulieri and Derby's rounds, Keith Hall shot 79, and Alex Redfearn posted a score of 80.

Mulieri is tied for 12th individually, while Derby is 21st. Liberty's John Parker McKoy posted the day's best round, shooting two-under par 70.

The field will complete the invitational with 18 holes on Sunday.
