Golf in 14th Place At Towson Invitational

GRASONVILLE, Md. - Men's golf went 316-312 to combine for a 628 Saturday at Prospect Bay Country Club in Grasonville, Md., coming in 14th place after two rounds in the Towson Fireline Invitational.

Jay Mulieri had the `Hounds lowest scores, shooting an opening-round 77 and following up with a 3-over 75 in the second round. Mulieri's 8-over 152 puts the sophomore in a tie for 25th going into Sunday's final round.

Alex Redfearn made up for opening-round struggles with a 77 in the second round. His 83 in the first round gives him a 36-hole total of 160 and leaves him tied for 71st.

Patrick McCormick and Ryan McCarthy had identical rounds of 81-80 Saturday. The duo is one shot off Redfearn at 17-over (161) and are tied for 76th.

Jason Burton had a strong opening but fell in the second round. The freshman fired a 77 in the first round but managed just an 85 in the second, putting him a 18-over (162) and tied for 81st.

UNC Greensboro leads with a 578 and host Towson is currently in sixth place. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference foe Siena is behind Loyola in 18th with a combined 643.

The Greyhounds will conclude play with one final round Sunday.
