Williamsburg, Va. - Junior Chris Derby scored a 73 in his opening round of the William & Mary Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Va. on Monday afternoon as the Greyhounds posted a team score of 304. Loyola, which sits in 12th place after Day One, is three strokes out of the Top-10 in the deep 21-team field.
Sophomore Blake Furgerson added a 75 for the `Hounds and is in 36th place among all individuals. Classmate Michael Mulieri posted a 77 while senior captain Will Shriver rounded out Loyola's registered scorers with his 79.
Campbell University leads the field with a scorching 279 in Monday's round. St. John's is eight strokes back of Campbell and alone in second place at 287. The Greyhounds are tied with Boston College and Drexel heading into Tuesday's final round.
