Wisner Nails Hole-In-One, Greyhounds In Lead At Kingsmill

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - Bennett Wisner became the first Loyola University Maryland golfer to nail a hole-in-one under head coach Chris Baloga, as he helped the Greyhounds to a share of first place following the first round of the Middleburg Bank Intercollegiate at the Kingsmill Resort River Course Sunday.

Wisner aced the fifth hole, a 173-yard par 3, and finished the day tied with junior Jimmy Dengler, sophomore Matt Oshrine and five others for seventh place with an even 70.

Senior Bart George is two strokes back of his teammates and in a 10-way tie for 40th place with a 3-over 73, while sophomore Connor Flach is tied for 81st with a score of 6-over 76.

As a team, the Greyhounds will enter the second round in a tie with Radford for the lead, as both squads shot a 3-over 283. Boston College is in third with a 5-over 285 and Missouri is fourth at 6-over 286.

Boston College's Nick Pandelena and High Point's Jack Sides will enter the second round tied for the lead with a 3-under 67. Jamison Randall of ODU, Conner Hayden of Radford and Patrick Flavin of Miami (OH) are in a three-way tie for third with a 2-under 68.

Loyola will return to the course Monday for the second round before concluding play Tuesday.
