Golfers Tied For Fourth Following First Round Of Kingsmill Intercollegiate

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. - The Loyola University Maryland golf team is tied for fourth following Sunday's first round of the Kingsmill Intercollegiate at the Kingsmill Resort River Course.

The Greyhounds shot an 8-over 288 through the round to sit tied with Appalachian State and one stroke out of second place, as Penn State and Dayton each shot aggregate scores of 7-over 287 today. Tennessee is atop team leaderboard after shooting 4-over 284.

Junior Ethan Wall leads Loyola after shooting an even 70, placing him in a tie for eighth entering tomorrow's second round.

Sophomore Brendan Peel is second for the Greyhounds, and tied for 14th overall, at 1-over 71, while junior Connor Flach is one stroke back, and tied for 23rd overall, with a 2-over 72.

Junior Will Wears and sophomore Bennett Wisner are both tied for 56th, shooting a pair of 5-over 75s today.

Penn State's Charles Huntzinger leads the individuals with a 3-under 67 today. Drake's Tomi Avant shot 2-under 68, to sit second, while five players carded 1-under 69s through the round.

Loyola will return to action on Monday for the second round. The Greyhounds will tee off at 11 a.m.
