Behind Mike Mulieri's Top Ten, Golfers Finished Tied For Seventh At CSUMB

Seaside, Calif. - Senior Mike Mulieri fired a final-round 76 on Tuesday to earn a Top Ten showing and the Loyola College golf team finished the CSUMB Otter Invitational tied for seventh place. After shooting rounds of 310 and 314 on Monday, the Hounds split the difference with a 312 in final day action at the Bayonet Golf Club in Seaside, Calif. It was Loyola's first tournament in a month after resuming its Spring schedule in mid-February.

Loyola, which entered Tuesday's round in seventh place, finished the event tied with CSU-Stanislaus at 72-over par. CSU-San Bernardino, at 37-over par, claimed top team honors in the 13-team field.

Mulieri led the Hounds at 11-over for the event (75-76-76).

Freshman Patrick McCormick shot a team-low 75 on Tuesday to finish second on the team at 17-over par (78-80-75). He took 19th in the field.

Freshman Jay Mulieri finished tied for 33rd ( 81 77 79-237) and sophomore Alex Redfearn (80 77 82- 239) earned 42nd. Freshman Ryan McCarthy withdrew on the final day.

Sonoma State's Patrick Bauer fired a final-round 71 and finished 1-under to win the event.

The Greyhounds return to action on March 28-29 at the Towson Invitational in Graysonvile, Md., at the Prospect Bay Country Club.
