Golfers Finish Tied For 14th At Loyola Intercollegiate

The Loyola University Maryland golf team finished tied with Air Force for 14th place at the Loyola Intercollegiate at Palm Valley Golf Course Tuesday.

Senior Jimmy Dengler led the Greyhounds with a 3-over 219 through the three rounds, shooting an even 72 today to finish tied for 41st.

Junior Will Wears was second for Loyola, and one stroke back of Dengler, checking in tied for 53rd with a 4-over 220. Wears shot a team-best 3-under 69 today to move up 20 places.

Junior Ethan Wall carded an even 72 today to move up six places and into a tie for 71st place. He finished with a three-round score of 8-over 224.

Junior Connor Flach and sophomore Jeremy Wall rounded out the scoring Greyhounds, finishing tied for 83rd at 12-over 228. Flach shot 4-over 75 today, while Jeremy Wall hit 4-over 76.

Sophomore Brendan Peel, competing as an individual, also finished tied with Flach and Jeremy Wall, shooting a 4-over 76 today, while sophomore Bennett Wisner, also competing as an individual, was the top Greyhound finisher, finishing tied for 26th with an even 216. Wisner shot 2-under 70 today.

As a team, the Greyhounds shot an even 288 today to finish at 20-over 884. Arkansas State won the team title with a 31-under 833 and Indiana finished runner-up at 22-under 842. James Madison checked in third at 17-under 847.

Individually, Arkansas State's Tanner Napier was the medalist with an 18-under 198, while Indiana's Jake Brown shot a course record 10-under 62 to finish runner up with a 14-under 202. Arkansas State's Seth Garner finished third at 10-under 206.

The Greyhounds will return to action Sunday, March 20 when they travel to Williamsburg, Virginia, for the three-day Kingsmill Intercollegiate.
