Greyhounds Finish Second At Pizza Hut Golf Invitational

Philadelphia, Miss. - Junior Chris Derby fired a final round score of 71 to help Loyola earn a runner-up finish at the Pizza Hut Invitational in Philadelphia, Mississippi on Monday afternoon. The Greyhounds, who shot a two-round team total of 606, took second in the 12-team event.

Derby was the only Greyhound to register a sub-par score at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, and finished fifth among all individuals. His 36-hole score of 150 was two strokes better than sophomore Michael Mulieri, who registered rounds of 74 and 78.

Senior Will Shriver rebounded from his 80 on Sunday to score a 75 in Monday's final round. Shriver tied Matt Bassler with his tournament score of 155, while sophomore Blake Furgerson scored a 154 over two days.

The Greyhounds travel to Florida next to compete in the Fort Lauderdale Spring Classic on Thursday-Friday, March 8-9.
