GOODYEAR, Ariz. - Senior Brendan Lemp, freshmen Connor Flach and classmate Matt Oshrine all shot par-or-under through the final round of Loyola’s Snowman Getaway to help the Loyola University Maryland golf team into a tie for fifth place with a three-round score of 4-under 860. The Greyhounds finished even with Utah Valley at 3-under 860.
Oshrine led Loyola with a 3-under 69 through the final round to finish second on the team with a 4-under 212. He finished tied for 15th overall.
Lemp was tied for seventh overall with an 8-under 208 through the three rounds. He carded a 2-under 70 through the final round.
Sophomore Jimmy Dengler was third on the team, shooting 1-over 73 today, to finish tied for 38th overall at 2-over 218, while Flach tied his tournament-best round with an even 72. Flach finished tied for 62nd at 7-over 223.
Sophomore Keegan Boone took 91st with a 15-over 231 after shooting 3-over 75 today and senior Andrew McGill, competing as an individual, was 98th with a 26-over 242. He shot his best round today, a 5-over 77.
Despite finishing tied with Air Force at 15-under 849, Illinois State took the team title after shooting a low final round team score of 273. Gonzaga was third at 9-under 855 and William & Mary was fourth with a 6-under 858.
St. John’s Ryan McCormick was the top individual finisher, carding a 15-under 201, while Arizona State claimed the second and third place finishers. Mathias Schjoelberg was second with a three-round total of 12-under 204 and Blake Cannon was third at 10-under 206.
The Greyhounds will return to the course on Sunday, March 9 for the three-day Pinehurst Intercollegiate in North Carolina.
