GOODYEAR, Ariz. - The Loyola University Maryland golf team finished the Loyola Golf Invitational sponsored by the Neville Kovacs Group at Palm Valley Golf Course in eighth place Tuesday afternoon. The Greyhounds shot a 25-over 889 through the three rounds.
Sophomore Connor Flach led Loyola through the final round, shooting an even 72 to finish second on the team and tied for 22nd overall with a 5-over 221.
Classmate Matt Oshrine was the top finisher for the Greyhounds with a 1-over 217. He shot a 2-over 74 today to finish tied for 12th overall.
Freshman Jeremy Wall also carded a 2-over 74 today, placing him tied for 33rd at 7-over 223.
Sophomore William Wears, competing as an individual, finished tied for 70th at 17-over 233 after shooting 9-over 81 today.
Utah Valley took the team title with a 4-over 868, while Utah and Gonzaga tied for second at 10-over 874.
Arizona State's Broc Johnson won the individual title with a 9-under 207 and St. John's Obe Ayton and Utah Valley's Brayden Eriksen tied for second at 4-under 212.
Loyola will return to the course on Sunday, March 8 when it travels to Aiken, South Carolina for the three-day Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate.
