Baltimore, Md. - For the fifth time in seven games this season, the Greyhounds are on the road when they face Delaware on Wednesday night in Newark. Loyola looks to become the first MAAC school to defeat a CAA team this season when they battle the Blue Hens at 7:30 p.m.
Loyola enters with a 0-6 overall record while Delaware comes in at 4-1. The series is knotted at 9-9 and the Hens have had the advantage at home, winning 7-of-11 against Loyola in Newark. Wednesday's game is Loyola's third in five days while Delaware has been idle since playing UMBC on December 6.
Sophomore Charlie Bell has been Loyola's top scorer this season, averaging 15.7 points per game for the 'Hounds while leading the team with seven steals. Junior Bernard Allen, who started his first game of the year against St. Peter's on Monday night, leads Loyola in rebounding with 37 total boards.
Delaware has three players averaging double figures this season with Mike Ames leading the way with his 17.2 point-per-game average. David Lunn (13.2) and Mike Slattery (11.6) also average double figures in the scoring column.
The MAAC is 0-4 against schools from the Colonial Athletic Association this season. The Greyhounds are 0-1 against the CAA after falling to Towson at home. Wednesday's game is the first of three MAAC contests for the Blue Hens.
