Baltimore, Md. - Freshman Brad Farrell was named the MAAC Rookie of the Week after averaging 14.7 points, four rebounds and 2.3 assists in three games last week. The 6-4 guard from Herndon, Va. is Loyola's second Rookie of the Week selection this season.
Farrell scored a career-high 18 points and led Loyola in scoring at Saint Peter's last Thursday night. He followed up his career performance with 14 points in Loyola's 97-89 win over Niagara on Sunday.
Farrell is currently third on the team in scoring with an 11.7 point-per-game average. He also leads the Greyhounds with 15 assists and is pulling down 3.5 rebounds per game.
Freshman Freddie Stanback was named co-Rookie of the Week by the MAAC after the season-opening weekend at Virginia Tech.
The Greyhounds are back in action this Saturday when they host long-time rival Mount St. Mary's at 2 p.m.
