Men's Basketball Signs Two Recruits

Nov. 17, 2004

Baltimore, Md. - Head basketball coach Jimmy Patsos announced today that Loyola College has inked two recruits for the 2005-06 season. Marquis Sullivan and Jawaan Wright signed letters of intent and are the latest additions to Greyhounds basketball.

"Both players will fit the up-tempo style we're trying to play," says Patsos. "They also have the potential to contribute right away."

Sullivan is a 6-0 shooting guard from Archbishop Spalding where he was coached by Mike Glick. Sullivan is Spalding's leading returning scorer and marks the eight straight season Coach Glick has produced a Division I product.

"Marquis Sullivan comes from a great program," says Patsos. "He's very athletic, can see the whole court and most importantly, comes from the Baltimore Catholic League."

Wright, a 6-7 power forward, will play for Coach Bill Batty at Northfield Mt. Hermon this season. A member of the New England Prep School Athletic Conference, Northfield Mt. Hermon has sent over 50 players to Division I programs over the past 10 years. Before Northfield Mt. Hermon, Wright played at Cathedral High School in Springfield, Mass.

"Jawaan Wright was an excellent high school player," says Patsos. "He's very athletic and will help us next season."
