Greensboro, N.C. - Greyhounds incoming freshman Julius Brooks scored 10 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the West to a record-setting 124-92 victory Tuesday night at the North Carolina Coaches Association East-West All-Star Game held at the Greensboro Coliseum.
The 6-9 forward from Page HS was the highlighted player on a West squad that featured seven players attending Division I schools this fall. He officially joined the Greyhounds in May.
The West established records for points in a game and margin of victory in the 61st edition of the game. "We came together as a team and the switch flipped," Brooks told the Greensboro News & Record after the game.
Brooks and the Greyhounds will showcase their talents for the first time on November 13 when Loyola hosts Vermont at Reitz Arena.
