Baltimore, Md. - Sky Khaleel has signed a letter of intent to play basketball at Loyola College next season. Khaleel, a 6-5, 205 pound small forward, played high school basketball at Cardozo in New York City and most recently spent a year at Northfield Mount Hermon Prep in Springfield, Mass.
"We're thrilled to have Sky join the program," says Loyola Head Coach Jimmy Patsos. "He's got good size and is very athletic. He should fit in well at Loyola."
Khaleel, who was attracted to Loyola's new up-tempo offense, chose the Greyhounds over Vermont and Boston University. A preseason All-America in 2003, he led Cardozo to a 22-3 overall record, taking his team to the City Championship game at Madison Square Garden.
As a senior, Khaleel averaged 15 points and 13 rebounds per game and was named the Queen's Player of the Year. He also earned second-team All-New York City honors.
"Playing in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, we compete against a lot of New York schools," adds Patsos. "It's great to have a kid from this area on your team."
Khaleel joins Northfield Mount Hermon Prep teammate Jawaan Wright who signed with Loyola last fall.
