Baltimore, Md. - Loyola Head Men's Basketball Coach Jimmy Patsos will appear as a special guest on the "Sports Junkies" television show, which is set to air on Comcast SportsNet for the first time ever this Saturday night at 11 p.m.
Patsos can be seen talking about his experiences from his first year as head coach of the Greyhounds, life as an assistant coach under Gary Williams at Maryland for 13 years, and about this year's NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four.
The "Sports Junkies" are a group of four D.C.-metro area sports media personalities, more affectionately known as Lurch (Jason Bishop), Cakes (John Auville), E.B. (Eric Bickel), and J.P. (J.P. Flaim). This quartet will host a half-hour television show scheduled to air every Saturday night on Comcast SportsNet at 11 p.m. The show will include interviews with local and national sports celebrities and some entertaining special segments.
The "Sports Junkies" gained popularity throughout the area with their highly entertaining sports radio talk show, which they continue to host on WJFK in Washington, D.C. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. In concentrating primarily on the local Baltimore-D.C. scene, Coach Patsos was a guest on the "Sports Junkies" radio show in January. Gary Williams, former Maryland basketball star and current Washington Wizard Laron Profit, Washington Redskins wide receiver Darnerian McCants, and Wizards play-by-play announcer Steve Buckhantz have also been guests on the radio show.
