Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's basketball team will face Manhattan in the first round of the 2005 MAAC Tournament. The Greyhounds, which finished 6-21 overall and 5-13 in the conference, earned the No. 9 seed and play the sixth-seeded Jaspers this Friday, March 4 at 9:30 p.m.
The Greyhounds split their season series with Manhattan as each team won on its home floor. Friday's game will be the first postseason meeting between the two programs since the 1994 MAAC Championship Game. Loyola won that game, 80-75, and advanced to the NCAA Tournament.
This year's tournament will take place at the HSBC Arena and will commence with No. 5 seed Iona playing No. 10 seed Siena on Friday at 4:30 p.m. Niagara is this year's No. 1 seed and will have a double bye into Sunday's semifinal.
