Men's Basketball Makes Visit To Yankee Stadium

Feb. 2, 2006

BALTIMORE, Md. - Prior to the Greyhounds' game against Marist on Monday night, Coach Jimmy Patsos decided to surprise the team with a trip to Yankee Stadium, the home of the 26-time World Champion New York Yankees.

"This was a great experience," Patsos said. "To be able to say you've been to the home of the 26-time World Champions is something our players will never forget."

Patsos went to college with Yankees General Manager Brian Cashman and decided to call his college classmate to set up the visit.

After a brief visit to Cashman's office, the team got a chance to go into the Yankees clubhouse before stepping onto the field where the Bronx Bombers play their home games.

"With our program on the rise, it is important for our players to know what it takes to get to the next level of success," Patsos said. "Taking the team to Yankee Stadium showed them what it takes to get there."

Now 11-8 on the season, the Greyhounds return home on Thursday night to face Siena College beginning at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are available by calling 410-617-2547.
