Baltimore, Md. - Loyola University Maryland's men's basketball team will host the University of New Hampshire on February 20 in a matchup created from the pool of teams under consideration for BracketBusters games. The game will not be televised as part of the games appearing on the ESPN family of networks which will be announced later today on ESPNU.
This is the fifth year that the Greyhounds have participated in the event and the third time they will be hosting the February game. Loyola is 3-1 in the pre-determined matchups and perfect in two home games, defeating High Point in 2006 and UC Davis in 2008. In games scheduled as part of this arrangement, the Greyhounds are 5-2 with a return from Drexel pending as the season opener to the 2010-2011 season.
New Hampshire will be the first opponent from the America East Conference that Loyola has drawn, but the Greyhounds are no stranger to the Wildcats' conference. Already this season, Loyola defeated second-place Vermont at home in the season opener and won at UMBC in November. New Hampshire is currently 8-11 overall and 3-5 in league play, good for seventh place.
Loyola continues MAAC play this weekend when it visits Rider Friday and Manhattan Sunday. The Greyhounds will be back in Reitz Arena on February 12 when they host Saint Peter's at 7 o'clock.
