Baltimore, Md. - Senior Andre Collins has been named MAAC Player of the Week, the conference office announced today. Collins, who registered a pair of 30-point performances last week, is the MAAC's leading scorer and three-point shooter this season.
On Thursday night at VMI, Collins posted 34 points in Loyola's eight-point victory. He bettered that performance with 36 points at Delaware on Saturday, again leading the Greyhounds to victory.
With the two 30-point games, Collins has improved his season scoring average to 25.6 points per game. He has led Loyola in scoring in all nine of its games and has three 30-point scoring nights this season.
The Player of the Week honor is Collins' second this season. He was named MAAC Co-Player of the Week on November 21 after a 22-point debut at Towson.
