Walker's Double-Double Paces Loyola To 58-41 Win At Dartmouth

HANOVER, N.H. - Sophomore forward Shane Walker posted his first career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds to lead Loyola to a 58-41 road win at Dartmouth Tuesday night.

Trailing 38-37 with 12:11 remaining in the game, the Greyhounds (3-2) ended the game on a 21-3 run with Walker scoring six straight in the middle of the stretch. Loyola grabbed the lead on six-footer from sophomore forward Anthony Winbush with 11:32 left and allowed just one field goal and one free throw defensively to close out the game.

After Dartmouth opened the scoring, Loyola scored 11 straight for an 11-2 lead with 13:40 left in the first half, the final three points coming on a three-point basket by senior guard Brett Harvey.

The Big Green (0-4) battled back to grab a 16-15 lead with seven minutes before intermission before Loyola pulled ahead 27-22 on a tip-in by junior guard Jamal Barney with 46 seconds remaining. Dartmouth scored the final basket of the half, a three-pointer from 40 feet by Jabari Trotter as the horn sounded to close Loyola's lead to 27-25 at the half.

Consecutive baskets by Walker and Harvey gave Loyola a 37-31 lead with 14:30 left before Dartmouth scored seven straight to take its final lead at 38-37 with 12:11 remaining. Following Winbush's basket which gave Loyola the lead for good, Harvey converted a conventional three-point play and junior guard Brian Rudolph swished a pair of free throws for a 44-38 lead.

In addition to Walker's double-double, Harvey reached double figures with 10 points. Freshman forward Julius Brooks scored eight points and grabbed eight rebounds and Barney scored seven points with eight boards.

Dartmouth was led in scoring by Josh Riddle's 11 points. Loyola outrebounded the Big Green for the game, 44-29 and made nine of its 11 free-throw attempts while Dartmouth made just four of its 11.

The four-game road swing concluded, the Greyhounds are off for a week before hosting Morgan State on December 1 at 7:30 p.m. The game will be carried live on MASN.
