BALTIMORE, Md. - Junior guard Shane James scored the game-winning lay-up with 3.2 seconds remaining as the Greyhounds (11-5, 5-3) snapped a two-game losing streak with an exciting 78-76 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference victory over Rider University (5-11, 1-7) at Reitz Arena on Sunday afternoon.
James, who scored 13 points in the game, gave the Greyhounds the lead twice in the final two minutes. With 1:19 left, he converted a pair of free throws to give Loyola a 76-74 advantage. After junior Terrance Mouton tied the game at 76-76 with 26 seconds left, James drove to the left side and gave the Greyhounds the two-point cushion with a reverse layup. Mouton had an opportunity to win the game for the Broncs, but his three-point attempt from the right side hit the rim and the Greyhounds claimed the victory.

Rider rallied with an 11-0 run to cut the deficit to 57-49 with 11:25 remaining as senior Paul Johnson scored seven of those points. The two teams battled back and forth until the Broncs scored seven straight points in just over a minute to tie the game at 70-70 on a Johnson lay-up.
Senior Josko Alujevic followed with a lay-up to give Loyola the two-point lead before Mansell tied the game with a pair of free throws to set up the exciting finish.
