Cross Country Ready For NCAA Regionals

Nov. 9, 2007

Baltimore, Md. - On Saturday the Loyola men's and women's cross country teams will travel to Lehigh University for the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Region Championships. Earlier this year the team previewed the courses at the Paul Short Invitational and had great results - and hopes for more this weekend.

The season has been marked with highlights, including both junior Maureen Wynne's 22:33 6k and senior Brian Parker's 25:28 8k moving them to No. 8 and No. 2 respectively all time at Loyola.

The men's team had a great finish against nationally ranked competition thanks to a great 2-3 behind Parker. Junior Chris Heibell (25:32) and sophomore Terry Moran (25:40) ran very well and notched the team a 20th place finish out of 47.

The women will look to fellow junior Alexandra Salani and freshmen Lindsay Wilson and Kate Cervo to provide a solid punch behind Wynne.

The top two teams in the regional as well as the top four individuals qualify to the NCAA Championships to be held in Terra Haute Indiana later this month.
