Junior Jackie Truncellito headlines the list after finishing second on Loyola and fifth overall at the MAAC Championships with her 6K time of 22:59.9. Truncellito also won the individual title at the 2002 MAAC Championships to become the first Greyhound in history to ever accomplish that feat. The Exton, PA native's success isn't limited to the cross country course however, as she shines in the classroom with a 3.601 GPA.
Joining Truncellito on the women's team are Greyhound seniors Grace Wetzel, who finished 8th at MAAC's and carries a 3.808 GPA, Adrianne Blauvelt, who placed 13th at MAAC's and holds a 3.386 GPA, Gretchen Schuller, who placed 16th at MAAC's and has a 3.9 GPA, and Mary Claire Lewis, who has a 3.455 GPA. Sophomores Caitlin Dunne and Sarah Herships were the other Greyhound women named to the team as Dunne placed 27th at MAAC's and maintains a 3.667 GPA while Herships has logged a 3.567 GPA over her college career.
Loyola's men's squad also placed a trio of seniors on the all-academic team led by Dan Ramirez, who finished 52nd at MAAC's and holds an impressive 3.911 GPA. Senior Sean Duncan completed his last MAAC meet on Friday and has a 3.316 GPA while senior Kevin Cullen has posted a 3.613 GPA. Sophomore Pat Rice joins the three upperclassmen as he notched a 49th-place finish at MAAC's and holds a 3.260 GPA.
The men's and women's cross country teams continue competition at the NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regionals on Saturday, Nov. 15 in Lock Haven, Pa.
