Twenty Loyola Cross Country Runners Earn MAAC All-Academic Honors

Cervo, Wynne Log Top-10 Finishes At MAAC Championships

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. - Twenty Loyola College cross country student-athletes were named Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference All-Academic Team honors at the conference's annual awards banquet.

Earlier in the day, the Loyola men and women each placed fourth at the MAAC Championships (see link above).

The Greyhounds men's team had 11 members that registered grade-point averages of 3.2 or higher, tying for league-high honors with Marist.

Tim Burns (4.0, engineering science), Kieran Dowling (3.75, political science), Keith Forlenza (3.48, psychology), Chris Heibell (3.35, business administration/accounting), Jeffery Malone (3.86, English), Dan McDevitt (3.23, communications/advertising and public relations), Terry Moran (3.30, business administration/accounting), Ryan Santonacita (3.41, accounting), Brian Scullin (3.41, business marketing), Patrick Sullivan (3.54, elementary education) and Timm Woods (3.47, English/writing) were honored by the league.

Nine members of the Loyola women's team were honored at the banquet: Kate Cervo (3.61, undecided), Alyssa Doyle (3.70, psychology), Brianne Fenzel (3.26, elementary education), Kristen Ford (3.54, business administration/finance), Courtney McNamara (3.64, psychology and writing), Sara Ochs (3.74, undecided), Hilary Peluso (3.62, biology and psychology), Kelsey Powell (3.24, psychology and communications) and Maureen Wynne (3.63, communications/advertising and public relations).
