Cross Country Competes at Maryland State Championships

HUNT VALLEY, Md. - Senior Patrick Rice finished in 23rd place with a time of 28:17 to lead the Greyhound men's cross country team to an eighth place finish at the Maryland State Cross Country Championships at Oregon Ridge Park on Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile, junior Michelle McVann earned 38th place with a time of 24:46 as the Greyhound women's team finished in 10th place at the meet hosted by Johns Hopkins University.

Rice was the top finisher for the Greyhounds while freshman Brian Scullin crossed the finish line in 28:39, which was good for 30th place. Tim Woods finished in 65th place with a time of 29:37.

Freshman Nicole Gilhuley was the second Greyhound female runner to finish the race, earning 53rd place with a time of 25:05 while Caroline Scott finished in 74th place with a time of 25:41.

Towson University took first place in the women's race with 45 points while Swarthmore earned the men's title with 52 points.

The Greyhounds return to action next Saturday when they travel to the Gettysburg Invitational.
