Loyola Cross Country Teams Named Academic All-Americans

Jan. 20, 2003

BALTIMORE -Loyola's men's and women's cross country teams were named to the Academic All-American team by the Collegiate Cross Country Coaches Association of America for both having a team-average cumulative grade point average (GPA) of above 3.0.

The Greyhound women garnered the honor of not only making the team, but making the team "with distiction" because of their team GPA of 3.25. Last year, only seven teams in the nation earned "with distinction" title. Senior captain Danielle Walther helped catapult Loyola to this award with her near-perfect 3.989 GPA.

Loyola's men's team finished the season with a 3.157 GPA and were led by senior captain Gabe Reichenbach's impressive performances in the classroom.
