Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's and women's cross country programs will compete in a strong list of races this fall, beginning with its traditional opener at Mount St. Mary's. The Greyhounds, who released their 2007 schedule today, have five races on the schedule leading up the MAAC Championships and NCAA postseason races.
"Our program has continued to grow and this challenging meet schedule will provide a true test of where this team really stands," says Head Coach Rick Woods. "It should be an exciting season."
The Greyhounds have a pair of races in September, including the Paul Short Invitational at Lehigh. "The Paul Short Invite gives us an opportunity to test the course at Lehigh for our NCAA Regional meet later in the year," adds Woods.
On October 13, Loyola will split its squad with a return to the Brooks Pre-National meet in Terra Haute, Ind., and a local event at Newark, Del. The MAAC Championships follow on October 26, while the NCAA Regionals take place Nov. 9 in Bethlehem, Pa.
