Baltimore, Md. - The Loyola men's and women's cross country teams add 11 recruits to their 2007 lineup, Head Coach Rick Woods announced today. The Greyhounds sign four men and seven women to make up their latest freshman class.
The men's cross country recruits include four strong runners to complement a great returning class. The lineup consists of Kieran Dowling from Hershey Pa., Tim Burns from Randolph, N.J., Sean Barrett from Massapequa, N.Y., and Sean Skeuse from Stockton, N.J.
"These guys are all solid runners," says Coach Woods. "I think that they all have the potential of breaking into our top five next season."
The women's cross country includes an impressive list of runners mentioned in Loyola's track signings last week. Among those runners is Alyssa Doyle and Lindsay Wilson from Seton Keough High School in Maryland, and runner Sara Ochs from Shaker High School in Albany. Also coming to the squad are Lindsay Murphy (Weston, Mass.), Tara Mastoris, (Villa Joseph Marie High, Pa.), Lily Hall, (Portsmouth, R.I.), and Elizabeth Forward, (Jordon, N.Y.).
"This kind of recruiting class will make an immediate impact on the team performance and more importantly, keep us solid for the next four years," adds Woods. "It is going to be a great fall cross country season for both the men and women Loyola Greyhounds."
