BRONX, N.Y. - Led by Dan McDevitt's third-place finish, the Loyola men's cross country team placed seventh out of 26 teams in the IC4A University Race at Van Cortlandt Park on Saturday.
McDevitt clocked a time of 25:38 on the 5-mile course, just seven seconds behind New Hampshire's Nicholas Decrescan who won the race in 25:31.
Keith Forlenza took 103rd in 27:38, while Terrence Moran was 111st in 27:44. Brian Scullin was 134th in 28:06, and Charlie Donnelly rounded out the Greyhounds entry with a 142nd place finish in 28:12.
On the women's side, the Greyhounds took 14th out of 23 teams at the ECAC University Race.
Alexandra Beaver was 107th in 20:27, and Kate O'Connor was 127th in 20:42. Amanda Bossi finished 131st in 20:46, while Courtney McNamara completed the Greyhounds' team with a 144th place finish in 20:58.
"This was a great conclusion to our season," Head Coach Rick Woods said. "We had a good showing today, and it was a great cap to a career for our seniors that have done a great job of leading our team this year."
