Bronx, N.Y. - The Loyola men's and women's cross country teams wrapped up the 2009 season as Dan McDevitt and Amanda Bossi led their respective squads at the ECAC/IC4A Championships Saturday afternoon at Van Cortlant Park. The men's team finished 17th of 24 complete teams, while the women took seventh of 20 schools.
McDevitt finished 17th of 204 runners on the day, clocking in at 26:22.1. Junior Stephen Febish was second on the team, placing 52nd overall in 27:16.7. Fellow junior Tim Burns took third on the team with a 98th place finish in 27:52.8. Rounding out the scoring for Loyola was Louis Manna (140th, 28:50.0) and Sean Barrett (152nd, 29:06.9).
After taking the lead position for Loyola midway through the season, Bossi has ran a spectacular junior season, capping it off with a 17th place finish out of 192 runners in 18:42.8. Stephanie Gibney and Emily Doucette followed shortly after Bossi with 30th and 39th place finishes in 19:01.8 and 19:15.6, respectively. Kate Cervo (61st, 19:37.3) and Brittney Gibbons (66th, 19:42.3) rounded out the top five for the Greyhounds.
