BRONX, N.Y. - Senior Caitlin Dunne earned the individual MAAC women's cross country title as the Greyhound women finished second at the conference meet at Van Cortlandt Park on Friday afternoon.
Meanwhile, Brian Parker finished in 18th place as the Greyhound men earned a fifth-place showing.
Dunne, who earned her second consecutive title, finished with a time of 21:32.2, more than 26 seconds ahead of the second place finisher. Junior Andrea Rovegno finished in third place with a mark of 22:01.0. Freshman Maureen Wynne was the third Loyola runner to cross the line, finishing the 6K race in a time of 24:09.3 and was followed by junior Jackie Gaines one second later.
Iona had four of its runners finish in the top six spots to take the team title with 26 points. Loyola followed with 63 points.
Parker finished with a time of 26:36.7, less than one second ahead of junior Brendan O'Kane . Freshman Chris Heibell finished in 32nd place with a time of 27:06.2 and was followed by freshman Brian Scullin in 44th place.
Iona took the top eight individual spots to claim the team title with 15 points, which is the best score possible.
