Four Greyhounds Earn All-MAAC Tennis Honors

EDISON, N.J. - Tiffany Ash was named to the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference First Team, and three of her teammates - Rachel Janasek, Joy Johnson and Judy Lite - earned Second Team honors from the league's coaches, the MAAC office announced today.

Ash put together a solid freshman season, going 10-3 in dual match action and 4-1 in the MAAC. Ash was 8-3 in the No. 6 single slot where she was named to the First Team, and she also had victories while playing No. 3 and 5 singles. She also completed the season with an 8-5 doubles record.

Janasek led the Greyhounds from the No. 1 position this season, compiling a stellar 14-2 singles record in dual meet action, going 5-1 in the MAAC. She ended the year on a five-match winning streak and had the most singles victories of any Loyola player in 2010-2011.

Johnson wrapped up her Loyola career with an 11-5 singles record in dual meet play. She was 4-2 in conference play and went 8-5 in the No. 4 slot while winning both of her No. 3 matches and going 1-0 at No. 2 singles. She teamed with Jansek to win nine doubles matches, as well.

Lite earned All-MAAC laurels at the No. 5 spot, going 10-3 overall and 5-0 in MAAC play. She finished with a 9-3 record at No. 5 and won her lone appearance in the No. 4 flight. Lite and Scarlett Hoy also finished the season with a 10-4 overall record in doubles action.
