FLUSHING, N.Y. - The Loyola University Maryland men's and women's tennis teams will open play Wednesday in their respective Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Championships at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center.
Loyola's women earned the conference's No. 3 seed and will play No. 2 seed Marist at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
The men tied for third in the league with Niagara and Saint Peter's. Only four teams advance to the Championships and all other tie-breaking methods could not settle the seeds, a coin flip was used to determine the third and fourth seeds. Loyola wound up as the fourth seed, while Niagara will be the third.
Loyola's men will also take on Marist on Wednesday, playing the Red Foxes at 12 noon.
